Invitation to
Department of
Applied Physics

Applied physics generates new industries and disciplines, rather than a field that sustains existing ones.

This department covers physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biotechnology without being restricted to any field, and is at the frontier of science and technology to create new fields fusing these disciplines.

Cutting-edge science and technology have been studied to create new industries under the development of the latest nanotechnologies for applications in sensors, measurement, and information engineering.

We focus on nanoscience and nanotechnology, one of the key themes in the 21st century, encompassing the fundamentals and cutting-edge of nanophysics, nanomaterials, nanophotonics, and nanobiotechnology.

Our activities include international information outreach and exchange, as well as sister school agreements with other universities.

Graduates are welcomed by many private companies and research institutes with a strong background in fundamentals and aptitude for project-based research and development. In academia, graduates actively work as researchers and educators not only in the fields of physics, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, but also in the fields of information science and business administration.

In the Department of Applied Physics, the goal is to carefully educate talented individuals excelling in creativity and to produce many young graduates with a spirit of challenge. We will continue to endeavor to nurture human resources in line with this philosophy.

We look forward to welcoming you to our department,
where you will play a key role in the creation and
development of new science, technology, and industries in the future.
